Central Vietnam · UNESCO World Heritage
Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park in central Vietnam protects one of the world's great limestone cave systems, including Son Doong, the largest cave passage known on Earth. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You don't need to be an expedition caver to enjoy it: Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave are easy half day visits.
Which caves to visit
- Paradise Cave. A long wooden walkway through vast chambers of formations.
- Phong Nha Cave. Reached by boat along an underground river.
- Dark Cave. Zipline in, then swim and wallow in a mud bath.
- Hang En and Son Doong. Multi day expeditions that must be booked far ahead.
Plan your visit
Caves and boat trips can close in the autumn floods, roughly September to December. See our Phong Nha caves guide for difficulty levels, Son Doong and getting there.
