This is an unforgettable 5 days private tour to know the most beautiful places in northern Spain. You will have the flexibility to choose the hotels and restaurants and we will pick you up at your chosen hotels and restaurants at each stop. We are also willing to make small adjustments to the program if requested.

On this tour, you will also enjoy a guided visit to the most important towns in this area: Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Santander, and Bilbao.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Bilbao⌄

    Enjoy a guided visit to the Guggenheim Museum. The building was designed by Canadian American architect Frank Gehry, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao building represents a magnificent example of the most groundbreaking 20th-century architecture

    Enjoy a private walking tour through Bilbao and learn about the history of this fascinating city.

    The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO declared the Hanging Bridge a world heritage monument in 2006. In fact, this is the first World Heritage monument in the Basque Country and the first World Industrial Heritage monument in Spain. You will enjoy some free time to visit if and cross it if you want.

  2. 2Eastern Coast of Cantabria & Santander⌄

    Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Bilbao and drive you towards Santander. In your way towards Santander you will enjoy some free time to walk around the old town of Castro Urdiales. This is a beautiful village on the Cantabria eastern coast.

    This is one of the most important fishing villages in Spain. It is also famous for its anchovy production and it has a lot of anchovy factories. You will love the port of Santoña and its gorgeous bay.

    You will enjoy a 3h city tour (walking and by car) to know the history of this fascinating city and to visit its most important tourist attractions: - Cathedral - Pereda Gardens - Botin Centre - Magdalena Palace - Cabo Mayor Lighthouse

  3. 3Western Coast of Cantabria⌄

    The Cave of Altamira was declared World Heritage in 1985 for its cave paintings. You will have the opportunity to visit the Museum of Altarmia and a replica of the Altamira cave, the so-called "neocave". It will be a regular visit and it is only in Spanish available.

    The driver will leave you some free time to visit Santillana and do some shopping around. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Collegiate Church of Santa Juliana (€3.00/person entrance fee)

    This building was constructed by Antonio Gaudí and it is one of the few constructions of this famous architect out of Cataluña. You will have the opportunity to join a guided visit in English.

    You will love the landscape envolving the village of San Vicente de la Barquera: its bay, the mountains, and the sea render the perfect frame for an unforgettable picture.

  4. 4Covadonga and Oviedo⌄

    The holy cave of Covadonga is in fact a sanctuary. It is also one of the most important places of Asturias, as it represents the place where Christians won the first battle against Muslims that would lead to the reconquering of Spain.

    Once in Oviedo, you will meet with your guide to do a 3 h private walking tour through the old town of Oviedo.

  5. 5Western coast of Asturias - Santiago de Compostela⌄

    We will depart early towards Santiago de Compostela. On our way, we will profit to see some unforgettable landscapes like this one.

    this is one of the nicest coastal villages in Asturias

    This coast of Galicia is a spectacle of nature by itself. If the tide is low and if there is availability (the visit must be booked in advance), we shall stop for a free visit to this wonderful place.

    In the afternoon you will meet your guide in Santiago de Compostela. He will show you the old town. You will love the history of this city and a holy place for Christianity.

    You will enjoy visiting this place with your guide and learning more about the history of this gorgeous Cathedral and holy place where pilgrims from all around the world come to visit it.
