Travel from Marrakech to Fez through Morocco’s most iconic landscapes. Visit the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou kasbah and explore Ouarzazate and the rose valley of Kelaa Mgouna. Continue through the Dadès Valley along the “Road of 1,000 Kasbahs,” with stops in Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge to see dramatic canyon views, palm oases, and Berber villages.
Head into the Sahara for a camel trek across golden dunes at sunset. Spend the night in a desert camp under the stars with a traditional dinner. Continue north through desert and mountain scenery and finish your journey in Fez.
Day by day itinerary
1Marrakech – High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate – Kelaa Mgouna⌄
Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing traditional Berber villages, terraced valleys, and ever-changing mountain scenery.
Discover the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, famous for films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Free time to enjoy lunch at a nearby café.
Continue through Ouarzazate along the Road of 1,001 Kasbahs. Arrive at your kasbah hotel in Kalaat M’Gouna for dinner and an overnight stay.
Meals: Dinner: Three-course dinner served at your hotel, typically including a starter, main dish, and dessert.
Overnight: Overnight stay in Kelaa Mgouna in a hotel, with a private room and ensuite bathroom.
2Kelaat M'Gouna – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi)⌄
Stroll through the Tinghir oasis and surrounding villages, then visit the Todgha Gorges with their dramatic limestone cliffs. Enjoy free time to explore the area.
Ride a camel across the Sahara, with a stop for sandboarding on the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and a sunset photo break.
Check into your private tent at the desert camp and enjoy a traditional dinner, followed by live Berber music and drumming around the campfire.

3Merzouga - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes⌄
Sunrise camel ride across the dunes, followed by a traditional Moroccan breakfast
Drive through the Ziz Valley, passing palm groves and ancient villages, with a scenic stopover in Ziz. Continue via Erfoud and stop in Midelt for lunch
Explore the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas and observe Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Continue through Ifrane, often called Morocco’s “Little Switzerland.”
Drop-off at your hotel or riad in Fes by early evening.

Starts: Please wait at the main entrance of Hôtel Tazi. Your driver will meet you there. The exact pickup time, driver contact, and vehicle details will be shared with you the day before your tour.

- Medina riad guests may be assigned a nearby meeting point (5–10 minutes' walk) if vehicle access is restricted.
- Night 1: Hotel in Kelaa M'Gouna. Night 2: Standard or Deluxe Merzouga desert camp, depending on your selected option.
- Camel ride lasts approximately 45–60 minutes each way. Walking alongside the caravan is available if preferred.
- Desert temperatures vary: hot during summer and cold at night in winter. Pack suitable layers. Pack a small overnight bag for the desert camp. Main luggage remains safely stored in the vehicle.
- Lunch is included only with the lunch option. Otherwise, bring cash (EUR/MAD); lunch costs about €10–€13.
- Optional extras available on-site: Quad biking (from €40 per quad) and local guide (€2 per person).
