Overview
Spend six nights and seven days exploring Lake Clark National Park aboard Odyssey, our 50-foot sailing catamaran, with the yacht reserved for your private group of up to six guests. Settle into three queen guest cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom and shower, plus a separate day head: four bathrooms available to guests.
Enjoy meals prepared aboard, relaxed time on deck, waterfall hikes, fishing, paddleboarding and wildlife watching beyond Port Alsworth. Explore Little Lake Clark by dinghy when weather and time allow; Odyssey remains outside. Your crew adapts the route and activities to conditions and your interests, with extra time to linger and explore.
We meet your flight in Port Alsworth with boarding generally in the afternoon. Overnight accommodation, crew, meals, snacks, nonalcoholic drinks and recreational gear are included. Flights and alcohol are extra. Guests pay separately for all optional third-party activities, including floatplane excursions.
Day by day itinerary
1Welcome to Lake Clark National Park and Preserve⌄
We meet your flight in Port Alsworth, help transfer your luggage to the crew at the beach, and introduce you to the village and National Park Service visitor center. This is a sample itinerary: the route, anchorages and activities are adapted to weather, flight times and your group’s interests.
If time and your interests allow, take an optional self-guided hike to Tanalian Falls. Village activities and hiking can be shortened to allow earlier boarding once Odyssey is ready. Any food or drinks purchased ashore are at your own expense.
Board Odyssey generally in the afternoon, after noon once the yacht is ready. Meet your crew, enjoy snacks and settle into your cabin before the safety briefing. Cruise to a sheltered anchorage chosen for the conditions, with dinner prepared aboard. The crew handles the yacht, meals and planned activities throughout your stay.
Meals: Dinner: The crew will prepare a delicious dinner for you either while under way, or at anchor that evening.
Overnight: Odyssey: 3 queen guest cabins, each with bathroom/shower, plus a day head (4 guest bathrooms). Separate crew quarters.
2Current Creek Waterfalls⌄
Wake up and watch for wildlife as you drink your morning coffee.
The crew will take you ashore in the dinghy to a secret waterfall (10 minute hike) just past Current Creek.
Depending on conditions, cruise toward the head of Lake Clark and explore a creek or beaver habitat by paddleboard or dinghy. Your captain chooses a suitable anchorage; moving to a new anchorage each night is not guaranteed.
Polar plunge for those brave enough to swim or dive off the boat into the cold waters. (don't worry, we have hot showers at the transoms as soon as you climb out!)
Meals: Breakfast: Hearty Alaskan Breakfast · Lunch: Sandwiches, etc... packed for your waterfall excursion. · Dinner: A delicious meal prepared for you onboard
Overnight: You keep the same stateroom aboard Odyssey for the length of your stay.
3Little Lake Clark and the False Cave Waterfall⌄
Wake up and watch the shoreline for wildlife as you drink your morning tea or coffee.
When weather and time allow, take the dinghy into Little Lake Clark, with an optional hike to the False Cave waterfall. Odyssey remains outside Little Lake Clark. This outing is by dinghy only, not by kayak or paddleboard; the crew aims to include it for every overnight group when conditions permit.
Cruise among Lake Clark’s islands or enjoy more time in a sheltered anchorage, according to weather and your group’s interests. Your captain selects a suitable place to spend the night.
Paddleboard, explore or fish around the islands of Lake Clark, or relax aboard and enjoy the evening. Activities depend on conditions and your interests.
Meals: Breakfast: A Hearty Alaskan Breakfast · Lunch: A sack lunch with sandwiches, chips, fruit, etc... for your excursion and hike into Little Lake Clark. · Dinner: A delicious meal prepared for you onboard
Overnight: You keep the same stateroom aboard Odyssey for the length of your stay.
