Muyuna Amazon Lodge is an Eco-Lodge located in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. We are 140 kilometers (87 miles) upriver from Iquitos, in the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo National Reserve, and near the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. Due to our remote location, it is the main reason for which we guarantee the observation of flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Day 1 : Arrival⌄

    • Transfer from hotel or airport. • Departure to the lodge before 10 a.m. by land and river (3 hours). • Welcome and lunch. • Meet the world's smallest monkey, the Pygmy Marmoset, during your first jungle experience. • Dinner. • Night boat excursion to observe caimans, nocturnal birds, and mammals.

  2. 2Munuya Lodge and Juanachi Lake⌄

    • Breakfast. • Excursion to swim in the Amazon River and see pink and grey dolphins. • Lunch. • Observation of the Victoria Regia and iguanas. • Piranha fishing. • Sunset at Sapote Lagoon. • Dinner. • Night walk in search of tarantulas and large frogs.

  3. 3Munuya Lodge and Juanachi Lake⌄

    • Introduction to birdwatching at dawn. • Breakfast. • Boat excursion to lagoons or streams upriver, searching for bird and monkey species. • Authentic visit to the San Juan de Yanayacu community. • Lunch. • Observation of the Hoatzin, a prehistoric bird living in swamps. • Dinner. • Canoe excursion to listen to the jungle at night.

  • FLIGHT INFORMATION: Arrival flights on Day 1 should arrive before 9am. On Day 4 of the tour, departure flights should take place after 5:30pm to ensure sufficient time for transfer to Iquitos International Airport. In case the flights arrive outside this time, an extra payment for the private boat must be made.
  • Recommended to carry a backpack and leave luggage in lodge storage
