    The gateway to Mt. Koya, this tall structure with carved guardians, was built in the 11th century.

    Walking from Daimon Gate to Konpon-daito Pagoda and Danjō-garan Buddhist Temple Bright-red, 50m pagoda in a temple complex, containing a Buddha statue & ornately painted pillars.

    Well-known, historical Buddhist temple complex in a serene environment with towering trees.

    Kongōbu-ji is the ecclesiastic head temple of Kōyasan Shingon Buddhism Its name means Temple of the Diamond Mountain Peak. It is part of the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range" UNESCO World Heritage Site
