Overview
Experience Rioja like never before on this unforgettable journey. We’ll depart from Madrid and arrive in Logroño to enjoy a Michelin-starred lunch. That afternoon, visit an urban winery for your first taste of Rioja’s famous wines. The evening is yours to explore Calle Laurel, famed for its pintxos (self-pay experience).
Day two begins with a visit to one of Rioja’s most fascinating winemakers, exploring indigenous grape varieties and his unique vertical vineyards, which we’ll scale in a Hummer, followed by an exclusive tasting. Lunch options will be provided, with reservations arranged (self-pay). That afternoon, choose between a cave winery visit or a masterclass tasting in Laguardia’s historic caves. Spend the night in Haro, where dinner is included: bar hopping or a sit-down meal.
On the final day, explore the historic Barrio de la Estación, see iconic wineries, and visit our last winery crafting exceptional wines.
Conclude with lunch in Laguardia before returning to Madrid.
Day by day itinerary
1Madrid to Logroño⌄
We will head to an urban winery to get an intro to Riojan winemaking, complete with tasting.
Meals: Lunch: We dine in a one Michelin-Star restaurant for lunch complete with wine pairing.
Overnight: Overnight stay in 4 star hotel in the centre of Logroño.
2Rioja Alta⌄
We will meet with oenologist and guardian of Rioja to see the most vertical vineyard in the DO that we'll climb in a Hummer, learn about Rioja's indegenous grapes and finish with a guided tasting led by one of the most knowledgable people in the industry.
We head to our second winery to learn more about Riojan winemaking, complete with tour of the winery and tasting with complements.
Meals: Dinner: We'll be in the village of Haro, where we'll take you to some typical bars to share wine and pintxos.
Overnight: Overnight stay in a four-star hotel in Haro. Within walking distance to all bars and the famous Barrio de la Estación.
3Rioja Alavesa to Madrid⌄
We will take a pass through Barrio de la Estación to learn about its historical importance and see some of Rioja's most iconic wineries from outside.
We visit a modern winery producing high-quality wines from our final visit of the tour complete with tasting of three reserva wines.
Meals: Lunch: We visit the medieval town of Laguardia to enjoy some further pintxos or a sit-down meal. We'll let you decide.
