Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Pick up and transfer to Akagera National Park⌄

    Pick up from your place at 9 AM and transfer to Akagera National Park.

    Arrive at the Akagera National Park. As the guide will be taking care of the registrations, you will receive a short briefing about the safari and learn about the park history. Check in to your safari lodge and go for lunch. Afternoon game drive: We start the game drive in the southern part of the park. We anticipate to see the big 5 and other animal species and birds. Sunset boat ride: Embark on a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, observing hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife. Evening: Enjoy a sundowner drink while watching the African sunset over the savanna. Overnight in the middle of the forest, wake up at the sound of roaring lions.

  2. 2Full day game drive and drop-off⌄

    Rise early for a sunrise game drive along the northern circuit, the best time to spot predators like lions and leopards. Traverse open savannahs, where herds of elephants, elands, and antelopes roam. Pause for a bush breakfast or return to your lodge for a hearty meal. After breakfast, conclude your safari with a short scenic drive back to the southern gate. Depart for Kigali, arriving by late afternoon with unforgettable memories of Akagera.
