The journey started from Wadi Musa town by car through Little Petra to Wadi Araba, taking travelers from the intimate sandstone corridors of Siq al-Barid, past carved façades and faded interior paintings, up onto open high desert plateaus once used by Nabataean caravans, where wide horizons, wind-sculpted rock, and ancient paths replace crowds and monuments, before the land gradually drops away into the vast, sun-bleached expanse of the Rift Valley, with acacia trees, gravel plains, and deep silence marking the arrival in Wadi Araba’s stark desert landscape—a route that feels less like sightseeing and more like following history into the wilderness.
