Explore the Garden Route’s Wildlife. Join our private / small group tour with overnight stays in Knysna and a Private Game Lodge.

Enjoy three 4X4 Wildlife Safaris at Botlierskop & Buffelsdrift Game Lodges. See Elephants, Hippo, Giraffe, Eland, Buffalo & more.

Experience the spectacular Cango Caves & Ostriches. Stroll along pristine beaches with no other footprints. Visit ancient forests where elusive wild Elephants and Leopards lurk. See Giant Yellowwood Trees at Natures Valley.

Visit the Tenikwa Wildlife Centre. Look for Whales & Dolphins at Plett. Take a cruise to the stunning Knysna Heads and delight in shopping and fine culinary delights at the Knysna Waterfront. Taste oysters and some of the regions finest wines. Enjoy a South African Barbeque at the Knysna Yacht Club.

The tour is conducted by an experienced chauffeur driver/ guide. Luxury accommodation is in Guest Houses, Lodges or Villas. Also included are some Dinners, Lunches & entry fees to Activities & Attractions.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Knysna - South Africa's Favorite Town - is situated in the heart of the Garden Route⌄

    We stop for an optional Craft Beer/Gin or Juice tasting.

    Visit the Knysna Quays. This region has a tremendous range of arts and crafts, in all mediums. Visit the Knysna Heads where the mighty Indian Ocean rushes in and out of the Knysna Lagoon.

    Wind up the day with an optional Lagoon Sunset Cruise. There are a number of options including luxury Yachts and Ferries.

    Overnight: Overnight at an apartment in the Knysna Waterfront or a 4 star guest house in Knysna Town

  2. 2Explore Plettenberg Bay and the Tsitsikamma Region⌄

    We will do some whale and dolphin spotting. In the winter months there will be plenty of whales to view close to the shore.

    We visit the tiny settlement of Nature's Valley, one of the loveliest havens of tranquillity along the Garden Route. Our exploration of this ancient forest leads through the tangle of trees, ferns and creepers and the the undisputed monarch of the forest - gigantic Outeniqua Yellowoods.

    Guest will visit the Tenikwa Wildlife Center. On view are rehabilitated big cats and a range of smaller animales such as the meercat.

    Meals: Breakfast

    Overnight: Accommodation is the same as the previous night.

  3. 3Wildlife Safari and Ostriches.⌄

    Visit the Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Home to Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo. You will enjoy a safari on a 4X4 open vehicle with an experienced ranger.

    We travel over the Robinson Pass to Oudtshoorn, principal centre of the Klein Karoo and undisputed "ostrich capital" of the world. Our itinerary includes a visit to a fascinating Ostrich Show Farm where, amidst enormous flocks of these strange birds, we are shown their development from the one kg egg to the 100 kg adult.

    Overnight: Overnight at Buffeldrift Private Game Reserve or Nearby Lodge

  4. 4Wildlife Safari and the magical Cango Caves⌄

    The day begins with an early morning game drive. Look out for a wide range of animals include Hippo, Elephant, Lion, Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Buffalo, Rhino, Springbok and much more.

    Visit one of the great wonders of Africa - the subterranean wonderland of Cango Caves for a tour of this vast sequence of caverns, each filled with astonishing formations of glittering stalagmites and stalactites.

    We drop off our guests in the early afternoon at George Airport for your onward flight or coach/car transport to Cape Town or Port Elizabeth.

    Meals: Breakfast · Lunch: . Enjoy a wine tasting and lunch platter at the Karusa Wine estate.
