Overview

Over the next two days, we will explore the pristine wildernesses of the Zulu Kingdom. Our first stop is Lake St Lucia — the largest estuary in Africa for a 2 hour boat cruise along the lakes ecosystems which is renowned for large hippo pods as well crocodile, kingfisher and fish eagles.

Next up is the reserve that saved the southern white rhino from extinction. Start with the iMfolozi side which is typified by the open plains. As the sun begins to set we head into the hilly Hluhluwe side where we will track rhinoceros and other plains game. Check into our overnight accommodation before enjoying dinner at Ngweni Railroad Brewery & Cafe.

Day two is all about predators! Head to Manyoni, meet your ranger and jump into an open safari 4x4. Go on a 2 hour game drive tracking the big cats. Stop at a scenic spot for breakfast before continuing on your game drive tracking wildlife like giraffe, elephant and rhino. At 10h00 we will make our way back to Durban via Zamimpilo Community Market.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1St Lucia + Hluhluwe-iMfolozi⌄

    2 Hour Hippopotamus and Crocodile Boat Cruise along the UNESCO iSimangaliso Wetlands estuary in St Lucia.

    4 Hour Game Drive within the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve inside a closed vehicle with your tour guide.

    Meals: Lunch: Lunch will be along the popular Mckenzie Street in St Lucia which boasts many options to cater to your preferences. · Dinner: Dinner will be at Ngweni Railroad Brewery & Cafe located at your overnight accommodation.

    Overnight: Overnight at Hluhluwe Country Cottages within the town of Hluhluwe, 3 star self-catering with a cafe and brewery onsite.

  2. 2Manyoni Private Game Reserve⌄

    4 Hour Game Drive within Manyoni Private Game Reserve inside an authentic open safari vehicle with a trained wildlife ranger.

    Meals: Breakfast: Your ranger will stop half way through your game drive to have breakfast on the reserve.
