Whether you are a fan of activity adventures or just want to try something different, this hiking expedition will lead you on a memorable path.

Walk through remote farming villages before trekking into the dramatic and spectacular jungle-clad mountains on the famous Mount Elgon Trails. Be rewarded with breath-taking views of the Nkokonjeru arm, Bamboo forest, Jackson summit, World's largest Mountain caldera, Jackson Pool, Hot springs, and a diversity of birds.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Bushiyi to Shiloko Campsite⌄

    Trek through Mixed montane forest made up of dense forest dominated by a range of species in a variety of combinations. the main species being Podocorpus and remnbants of Anigeria spp. En-route are the magnificent rock formations and caves, ridge view point, tropical forest mammals notably monkeys and a variety of birds.

  2. 2Shiloko Campsite to Dubii⌄

    Morning: Enjoy breathtaking moorland views as you journey towards Dubii Campsite, surrounded by intriguing scenery and unique vegetation. Afternoon: Enjoy a delicious bush lunch midway while taking in the peacefulness of the trail and the pure mountain air. Evening: Recharge at Dubii Campsite, enjoying the spectacular views of Mount Elgon moorland.

  3. 3Dubii Campsite to Wagagai Peak⌄

    Morning: Begin the exhilarating ascent towards Wagagai, the peak of Mount Elgon, reveling in the rugged beauty that unfolds along the way. Afternoon: Reach higher altitudes and savor a packed lunch, feeling invigorated by the majestic surroundings. If time permits, descend into the world's largest mountain caldera, marveling at its immense scale and breathtaking vistas, then make your way to the serene Jackson Pool for a moment of tranquil reflection. Evening: Descend back to Dubii campsite, basking in the accomplishment of conquering the peak.
