Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and begin your overland journey deeper into the Omo Valley, one of Africa’s most culturally diverse regions. Drive through changing landscapes—from green highlands to dry savannah—passing small villages and encountering local communities along the way. Continue toward Turmi, the cultural heartland of the Hamar people. If timing allows, you may witness a traditional market or daily village life, where locals gather in vibrant attire, creating a lively and authentic atmosphere.

2Turmi- Karo -Jinka⌄
Depart from Turmi in the morning and drive through the rugged and scenic landscapes of the Omo Valley toward the Karo villages. Visit the Karo people, one of the smallest tribes in the region, known for their extraordinary body painting, intricate hairstyles, and artistic expression. Set along the banks of the Omo River, their villages offer stunning views and a unique opportunity to experience one of Ethiopia’s most photogenic and culturally rich communities. After spending time with the Karo and learning about their traditions and daily life, continue your journey north to Jinka. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery and occasional encounters with local tribes and pastoral communities. Arrive in Jinka in the late afternoon, where you can relax or explore the town, preparing for the next day’s adventures.

3Jinka - Mursi - Fly to Addis Ababa⌄
After breakfast in Jinka, drive into Mago National Park for a visit to the Mursi tribe, one of the most iconic and distinctive cultures in the Omo Valley. The Mursi are well known for their unique traditions, including the famous lip plates worn by women and their strong, proud way of life. This visit offers a rare opportunity to experience their culture, customs, and daily routines in an authentic setting. After the visit, return to Jinka for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, you may have time for some last-minute shopping, a cultural dinner, or simply relax after your unforgettable journey through the Omo Valley.
