Overview

Some places reveal their beauty in daylight — others wait for the night to tell their story.

El Calafate is one of them.

During this 3-day journey, you’ll uncover the soul of Patagonia through its people, landscapes, and skies. Feel the connection to the first native cultures during the Nativo Experience, and stand in awe before the mighty Perito Moreno Glacier. As daylight fades, a different kind of magic begins: the stars take over, and the moonlight transforms the ice into silver.

From a night of stargazing in the vast Patagonian steppe to the rare sight of the glacier shining under a full moon, every moment will remind you that nature always keeps a secret for those who dare to look closer.

For over 20 years, Signature DMC has specialized in crafting unforgettable experiences, not just trips. Recognized as one of the best in Argentina and South America, we connect cultures through extraordinary journeys.

  1. 1Arrival & Stargazing at Estancia⌄

If you’ve chosen the flight optional extra, your journey kicks off with a private transfer to Buenos Aires Airport for your flight to El Calafate. If not, we’ll meet you directly at El Calafate Airport, where a shared transfer will take you to your hotel. Step into Patagonia and let the night sky tell its story. After your transfer from the airport hotel, take a moment to settle in and enjoy some time at your own pace. As night falls, venture 50 km along the legendary Ruta 40 to Estancia Cruz Aike, perched amidst the Andes and overlooking Lago Argentino. Stroll through the grounds, absorbing the vast Patagonian landscape, and savor a crafted dinner featuring local flavors with views that stretch to the horizon. Then, let the sky take the lead. 2. 2Ancestral Patagonia & Perito Moreno by Moonlight⌄

Begin the day diving into Patagonia’s origins — and end it beneath the glow of moonlit ice. In the morning, join the Nativo Experience to uncover the legacy of the region’s first inhabitants. Follow trails along Lago Argentino, where ancient cave paintings whisper stories of the past, and enjoy a traditional lunch surrounded by stone and silence. As night falls over the steppe, travel 80 km from El Calafate to Los Glaciares National Park, tracing the southern edge of Lago Argentino through the quiet Andean foothills. Stop at viewpoints where floating ice shimmers under the moonlight — a preview of what awaits. Inside the park, walk the glacier’s catwalks guided by the full moon and your flashlight. Feel the silence, the cold air, and the crackling ice — a scene from another world. End the evening with a warm drink and a moonlit toast overlooking this natural wonder before returning to El Calafate with the memory of an unforgettable night.

  3. 3Sailing Beside Glaciers & Farewell to El Calafate⌄

After the moonlit silence of the night before, today you’ll see the glacier in all its daylight glory. Set out for a visit to the walkways of Perito Moreno Glacier, where multiple viewpoints reveal its immense walls of ice in constant motion and color. Watch as thunderous cracks announce the birth of new icebergs — a reminder of nature’s raw power. Later, embark on the Safari Náutico navigation, sailing across the glacial waters to the southern face of Perito Moreno. From the boat, feel the scale of this frozen giant as you drift near its towering blue cliffs — close enough to sense the chill rising from the ice. In the afternoon, transfer to El Calafate Airport for your onward flight, taking with you the memory of Patagonia’s wild beauty and a night under the moon that few will ever experience. If you’ve chosen the flight optional extra, board your plane back to Buenos Aires, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you comfortably to your accommodation.
