Overview

There are experiences that can be described — and others that can only be felt.

This journey belongs to the second kind.

Discover El Calafate from a whole new perspective: illuminated by the Patagonian moon!

Over three unforgettable days, you’ll trace the footprints of the first inhabitants during the Nativo Experience, sail the icy waters of Lago Argentino, and walk the balconies of Los Glaciares National Park. But the true heart of this trip beats at night — when the full moon rises and the Perito Moreno Glacier glows in silver light.

Standing before that massive wall of ice, surrounded by silence and moonlight, time seems to pause. It’s a moment few have witnessed — and one you’ll never forget.

For over 20 years, Signature DMC has specialized in crafting unforgettable experiences, not just trips. Recognized as one of the best in Argentina and South America, we connect cultures through extraordinary journeys.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Arrival in El Calafate & Journey Through Ancestral Patagonia⌄

If you’ve chosen the flight optional extra, your journey kicks off with a private transfer to Buenos Aires Airport for your flight to El Calafate. If not, we’ll meet you directly at El Calafate Airport, where a shared transfer will take you to your hotel. Begin this unforgettable adventure as you arrive in El Calafate, the gateway to Argentina’s frozen wonders. After your transfer to the hotel, take some time to settle in and breathe the crisp Patagonian air before diving into the region’s past with the Nativo Experience. In the afternoon, travel along the shores of Lago Argentino toward hidden caves once inhabited by the area’s first settlers. Inside, ancient rock paintings whisper stories of survival and connection to the land. As twilight paints the sky, you’ll sit down for a unique dinner inside one of these caves, surrounded by the warmth of firelight and the silence of the steppe — a truly unforgettable encounter with Patagonia’s soul.

  2. 2The Glacier under the Moonlight⌄

As night begins to fall over the Patagonian steppe, set out on a once-in-a-lifetime journey toward the Perito Moreno Glacier, the only one in the world that still advances continuously. Travel the 80 kilometers separating El Calafate from Los Glaciares National Park, passing through the quiet beauty of the Andean foothills. Along the way, stop at scenic viewpoints as floating icebergs shimmer in the moonlight — a preview of what awaits ahead. Once inside the park, walk along the catwalks of the glacier, guided only by the silver glow of the full moon and your own flashlight. Feel the silence, the cold air, and the subtle crackling of ice echoing in the distance — an atmosphere so surreal it seems from another world. The evening reaches its peak with a warm drink and a moonlit toast overlooking this natural wonder, a moment few travelers on Earth ever experience. As midnight approaches, return to El Calafate carrying the memory of a night that defies description.

  3. 3Sailing Beside Glaciers & Farewell to El Calafate⌄

After the moonlit silence of the night before, today you’ll see the glacier in all its daylight glory. Set out for a visit to the walkways of Perito Moreno Glacier, where multiple viewpoints reveal its immense walls of ice in constant motion and color. Watch as thunderous cracks announce the birth of new icebergs — a reminder of nature’s raw power. Later, embark on the Safari Náutico navigation, sailing across the glacial waters to the southern face of Perito Moreno. From the boat, feel the scale of this frozen giant as you drift near its towering blue cliffs — close enough to sense the chill rising from the ice. In the afternoon, transfer to El Calafate Airport for your onward flight, taking with you the memory of Patagonia’s wild beauty and a night under the moon that few will ever experience. If you’ve chosen the flight optional extra, board your plane back to Buenos Aires, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you comfortably to your accommodation.
